Frequently Asked Questions
“Why do you operate as a cash-pay practice instead of taking insurance?”
Many of my clients come to me because they’re tired of feeling rushed, dismissed, or treated like a number. Insurance companies limit how long I can see you, what treatments I’m “allowed” to provide, and how quickly you’re expected to improve.
By operating as a cash-pay model, I’m able to give you care the way it should be — personalized, unhurried, and rooted in what actually helps your body heal.
No middlemen. No arbitrary limits. No multiple patients at the same time. Just you, me, and a plan that honors your whole self.
“What kinds of issues can OT help with for adults over 40?”
Many people think occupational therapy is only for post-stroke or post-surgery recovery — but it’s so much more.
I work with adults experiencing:
Chronic pain
Joint stiffness
Balance or mobility concerns
Fatigue or low energy
Anxiety around movement or aging
Difficulty keeping up with daily tasks
Suboptimal longevity
If it affects your ability to move confidently, live independently, or feel hopeful in your body, OT can help.
“How many sessions will I need?”
Every body and every healing journey is different — and I never force you into a preset package.
Some clients feel meaningful improvements in just a few visits; others appreciate ongoing support as they rebuild strength, confidence, and daily rhythms.
During your initial consultation, we’ll talk through your goals and build a plan that fits your life, not the other way around.
“What should I expect during a session?”
Therapy with me doesn’t look like a fluorescent-lit clinic visit.
Depending on your needs, we may work in my garden, your home, a local park, or a calming indoor space. Sessions are relaxed, conversational, and hands-on.
We focus on the root causes of your symptoms — movement, lifestyle, sleep, stress, posture, and daily habits — so you leave feeling clearer, calmer, and more capable.
“Is this worth it if I’ve already tried PT, doctors, or medication?”
I hear this often.
Many of my clients have tried traditional routes and still feel stuck, unheard, or discouraged.
My approach is different: it’s natural, whole-body, and rooted in understanding the deeper “why” behind your pain or limitations.
If you’re looking for personalized support from someone who sees you as a whole human — not a diagnosis — then yes, this is absolutely worth exploring.
“Do you offer virtual or in-home sessions?”
Yes. I provide:
Telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in Tennessee
In-home visits for those who prefer support in their own environment
Outdoor or community-based sessions for clients who thrive in natural or real-life settings
Your therapy should meet you where you are — literally.
“What should I wear to a session?”
Comfortable clothing that allows for gentle movement is perfect.
Think: yoga pants, loose tops, or anything you’d wear on a calm walk or light stretching session.
“Do I need a referral from my doctor?”
No. As a private-pay practice, you can begin therapy with me directly.
If you’d like me to coordinate care with your doctor, I’m happy to do that — you remain in control.
“What are your prices?”
Transparency matters.
Session rates vary depending on type and length, but everything is clearly outlined during our consultation. No surprise bills, no insurance codes, no hidden fees.
“What if I’m nervous or embarrassed about my current abilities?”
You’re not alone — and you’re not behind.
My job is to meet you with compassion, patience, and clarity. This is a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Every step forward is celebrated.
“Ready to feel hopeful again?”
If you’re curious, even a little, let’s talk.
A free discovery call gives you space to share what’s going on and hear how therapy can help — no pressure, no obligation.
